Rewriting power: I look forward to seeing you at the bookshop for the book launch!

On 10 November I’m going back to Egea. This is the second time I present one of my books in this bookshop, and this time it’s the turn of Riscrivere il potere (Rewriting Power), my second. Francesco Frugiuele, who wrote the book with me, will be there too, and I can’t wait to tell you about it in person.

To understand how we got here, we have to go back to 2022, when I had two dreams. The first was to set people free: their energy, their initiative, their desire to give their best at work. I didn’t know how to do it, and I learned along the way. The second was to write three books: one from the gut, about my own story, which became Braveship; one about organisations and how to make them free and open; and a third to bring into economics lecture halls, where the people who will lead tomorrow’s companies are being trained.

The second book is this one. I like to think of it as sitting halfway between my story and the university classroom, inside a transformation we are still living through, day after day, with the people we are building it with. Francesco was beside me while I wrote it: a companion in thinking, in debate and, now and then, in healthy disagreement.

Inside you’ll find what we learned from trying to distribute power in a real company, the one that became Var Group: the idea of a network system in which authority and responsibility are distributed and decisions are made where the information lives, the Ripple Organization model, and the six dimensions and eighteen practical practices that put it into action. There are the insights that worked and the stumbles. There is the moment I understood that freedom needs clear boundaries to become breathing room. And there is the moment I let go of decisions I had held tight for years, discovering how much expertise was already waiting around me.

At the presentation we’ll talk about all of this with Stefania Carini, journalist and communication expert, who will moderate the evening. It will be your moment too: you can ask us any question you like, even the uncomfortable ones, and if you like our point of view, take a copy of the book home.

See you there!
