CEOforLIFE: the power of sharing and experiences

Yesterday in Rome, I had the opportunity to experience something truly meaningful: I was honored at the CEOforLIFE Awards, an event dedicated to projects in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Digital Transformation. This recognition goes beyond technical excellence—it celebrates the ability to turn vision into concrete action, innovation into real impact, and technology into value for society.

What do I take away from yesterday?
First and foremost, the powerful message shared at the opening by CEOforLIFE President Giordano Fatali: a clear and urgent call to awaken the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the country as a whole, so they can rise to the challenges of our time.

The words of William Nonnis also resonate deeply with me. From a technological standpoint, he noted, we are still operating as if we were eighty years behind. I would add that the same is true for many organizations today. We continue to work within outdated and inadequate models. If we do not accelerate change now, our companies risk being unable to fully embrace and benefit from investments in AI, technology, and cybersecurity.

Receiving this award is not an endpoint, but rather a renewed motivation to keep building—together—new organizational models capable of addressing today’s challenges, while never losing sight of customer centricity, productivity, and effectiveness.

This is why I enthusiastically welcome President Fatali’s invitation to create a group of leaders committed to rethinking how we do business and to translating ideas into concrete actions for the entrepreneurship of today and tomorrow.

Can it be done? Yes.
Must it be done? Absolutely.
